From Kindred Hospital Clear Lake

Struck down by pneumonia and facing acute respiratory failure and sepsis, Sandra found herself in a battle for her life. Refusing to be defined by her circumstances, Sandra embraced the care plan meticulously crafted by her team at Kindred. With determination, she fought off sepsis with the appropriate antibiotics under the guidance of her lead physician. The tireless efforts of her pulmonologist and respiratory team eventually led to a pivotal moment as Sandra was liberated from the ventilator, marking a crucial step forward in her recovery.

Throughout her journey, Sandra's spirit remained unbroken. She tackled her rehabilitation with admirable tenacity, undergoing physical, occupational, and speech therapy with unwavering commitment. With each milestone reached, Sandra's progress astounded all those involved in her care. From regaining the ability to breathe independently to reclaiming her strength and mobility, Sandra's journey served as a testament to her resilience and the expertise of her care team. Despite facing numerous challenges, Sandra defied the odds and surpassed expectations every step of the way.

Finally, after a remarkable journey of recovery, Sandra was discharged from Kindred and returned home with the support of home health services. From the entire team at Kindred, we wish Sandra all the success in her recovery.

Care for Complex Conditions

Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
