Michael's Success Story
"It was very beneficial coming to Kindred.”
- Michael
Michael was rushed to a local hospital when he was experiencing confusion and shortness of breath. Once stabilized, he was transferred to Kindred Hospital Louisville from Norton St. Matthews hospital for continued care.
Michael was very involved in his care plan and kept a positive attitude during his hospitalization. He worked daily to meet his pulmonary goals of decreasing his oxygen needs while also working with the Rehab team to increase his mobility and strength.
Michael is a published author, now retired and still enjoys reading and writing. He enjoys being retired and is excited to get back home. He misses his children and grandchildren. Michael shared, “It was very beneficial coming to Kindred, I have made the progress I have due to this facility. Thank you.”
Upon discharge to a skilled nursing facility for continued physical therapy before going home, Michael was weaned off all supplemental oxygen and breathing without difficulty.
Care for Complex Conditions
Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
