Eustolio's Success Story
"The care was excellent. The physical therapy department helped me a lot with my rehabilitation.”
- Eustolio
From Kindred Hospital Central Tampa
Eustolio was admitted to Kindred Central Tampa after a motor vehicle accident that resulted in acute respiratory failure, requiring supplemental oxygen via tracheostomy, wound care, facial fractures, acute kidney injury on hemodialysis with a feeding tube in place for nutrition and maximum assistance for bed mobility.
Eustolio made significant progress at Kindred, with the help of our dedicated physicians, respiratory therapist, and nursing and rehab teams. He was decannulated and weaned to room air and his diet progressed and he was able to have the feeding tube removed. Eustolio’s kidney function also returned and he no longer required hemodialysis.
Before being discharged home from Kindred Central Tampa on May 15th, Eustolio could walk completely independently over 600 feet!
Care for Complex Conditions
Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
