Eric's Success Story

Happy patient leaving hospital with caregivers

"The staff have been great. Grace is fantastic trying to fix my glasses. Heydy and Nelson were awesome, they helped me with my hair. I have made good progress on everything I did. The place has been good all the way around, I had no trouble. Made me feel totally comfortable and everyone was very supportive.”

- Eric

Eric was admitted to Kindred Bay Area Tampa for continued ICU care due to acute respiratory failure, requiring full ventilator support, a trach and required max assist for all mobility.

During his hospitalization he was able to wean from the ventilator, be decannulated and worked with speech therapy to regain his ability to eat a normal diet. He was so excited to be cleared to enjoy one of his favorite treats, a frosty from Wendy’s! He continued to work with physical therapy and was able to discharge from Kindred to Gainesville to be near his family.

Care for Complex Conditions

Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
