Deborah's Success Story
From Kindred Hospital Tarrant County - Arlington
Deborah was admitted to Kindred Hospital - Tarrant County Fort Worth Southwest after being discharged from a local hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Kindred was the preferred facility for extended medical care as she needed IV antibiotics to combat sepsis and respiratory therapy for acute chronic respiratory failure. Upon admission, Deborah was alert, and the medical team crafted a comprehensive care plan tailored to her needs. This plan focused on administering IV antibiotics and providing extensive physical and occupational therapy to support her recovery.
Determined to return home to her loved ones, Deborah quickly engaged in the the care plan. Initially, she required significant assistance with daily activities. However, over her three-plus weeks at Kindred, spending over 120 hours with the rehab team, Deborah made remarkable progress. The physical therapy team worked to improve Deborah’s strength, mobility, and endurance. The care team implemented a series of exercises aimed at enhancing her muscle function and respiratory capacity, while gradually increasing the intensity as she improved. Through her hard work and dedication, Deborah progressed from needing substantial help to being able to ambulate over 150 feet with a rolling walker.
The occupational therapy team focused on helping Deborah regain her ability to perform daily tasks. They provided adaptive techniques and tools to help her overcome limitations caused by her illness. Through targeted activities, such as practicing self-care routines and fine motor skills, Deborah regained much of her independence. By the end of her stay at Kindred, Deborah had overcome sepsis, thanks to the effective administration of antibiotics, and regained significant physical and functional abilities. The combined efforts of the medical, physical, and occupational therapy teams were crucial to her recovery.
Passing all her goals set in the care plan, Deborah was able to return home to her loved one, healthier and independent. From the entire team at Kindred, we wish Deborah all the success in her recovery.
