Debbie's Success Story
"Because of the excellent care, kindness and efficiency of all the staff, I will be walking out of Kindred with much gratitude.”
- Debbie
Debbie is a retired nurse who enjoys spending time with her husband and seven grandchildren. She is known for being selfless and caring for anyone who needs her, often using her gourmet cooking skills to brighten someone’s day.
Debbie went to the hospital for a routine hernia repair on January 12, 2024. While in the hospital recovering from surgery, Debbie experienced five cardiac arrests before receiving a pacemaker. She was then intubated and had a PEG tube placement.
Debbie was admitted to Kindred Hospital Dayton on March 13, 2024, for trach weaning, physical, occupational, and speech therapies.
In less than two weeks, Debbie is free of the trach, breathing on her own, restored to a full diet and walking the halls of Kindred. Her many friends are astounded by her amazing recovery.
Debbie’s determination combined with the skilled and dedicated staff at Kindred has made her dream of returning home a reality.
Care for Complex Conditions
Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
