Visiting Kindred

Supporting Your Loved One

We believe support from family and friends is a critical component of recovery.  Whether your loved one can respond to you or not, you can help keep their spirits up by simply being there. We encourage visits as often as possible and invite you to bring family pictures, letters, and cherished personal items to surround your loved one with postivity.

Information such as visitation policies, parking, and cafetria hours are included below for your convenience.  If you have any questions after reviewing this page, please give us a call!

Family Involvement

At Kindred Hospitals, we take an interdisciplinary approach to care planning and we believe family members are an important part of that team. At your request, we can hold family meetings with your loved one’s care team to discuss progress, provide education on a treatment plan, or review the discharge plan in preparation for post-hospital life. Our staff is ready to make your experience with us as pleasant and inclusive as possible. Please ask a case manager if you would like to schedule one of these discussions.

Accommodations

To make your stay as easy as possible when visiting a loved one overnight, we have established preferred rates with area hotels. A list of the hotels, along with their addresses and phone numbers, is available from our receptionist.

Toll Free Number

Should you want to check on your loved one, day or night, we offer a toll free number so you are always informed: 1.877.836.2671.

Cafeteria

The hospital cafeteria is located on the first floor and is open for lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The cafeteria is always open for use of the tables, microwave and vending machines. We offer complimentary coffee and tea.

Parking/Security

Free visitor parking is provided in designated areas in the hospital lot. Spaces for handicapped parking are also available. While we strive to keep all areas of the hospital secure, we are not responsible for vehicle damage, fire, or theft while parked in the hospital lot.

Our security staff is on duty from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday-Friday, and around the clock on weekends and holidays. After 9 p.m. all doors are locked; there is a phone at the front doors and at the ambulance entrance at the back of the building to contact security.
