Kindred Hospital Louisville is a 123-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period; including 16 Special Care Unit beds and 4 negative pressure rooms. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care 7 days a week so you can start your journey to wellness anytime. To the benefit of our patients, families and visitors, we are located in the Original Highlands neighborhood, a short drive away from downtown, Cherokee Park and a number of boutique shops and restaurants.
Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
Our Kindred Hospital – Louisville – Sub-Acute Unit is located within Kindred Hospital – Louisville on the third floor.
Treatment within our 47-bed Subacute Unit may be right for you or a loved one if you require short-term comprehensive inpatient medical care and rehabilitation. Most often, we care for those with a short-term illness, injury or worsening disease who do not need the medical care provided in a hospital but are not yet healthy enough to return home.
