About Our Hospital

Kindred Chicago Lakeshore is a 103-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located in the heart of the city, with a view of the lake and surrounded by sky scrapers and city activity.

Visitor Information

For safety, please:

Obtain a visitor’s pass at the Information Desk upon arrival. Limit visitors to two at a time. Passes are valid only for the date and area shown, and should be worn at all times. Return the pass when you leave.
Keep noise to a minimum.
No smoking on hospital grounds as we are a tobacco-free facility.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You may be asked to wait outside the room during care.

Visiting with Children

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the units, however they are welcome to wait in common or family waiting areas. Children must be supervised at all times in order to ensure their safety and the safety of our patients.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is located on the first floor and is available to all visitors.

Breakfast is served Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Lunch is served daily from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Vending machines and complimentary beverages are available throughout the day in the cafeteria.

Parking and Security

Free parking is available in the north lot, including handicapped spaces. For secure access, request a token at the main lobby reception. After 8 p.m., all doors are locked; use the doorbell at the north entrance for after-hours entry. Security escorts are available upon request.

Financial Matters

To guide you and your loved ones through the financial process, we have a dedicated business office staff member to handle all insurance billing. Should you have questions on the financial details or insurance coverage, we are more than willing to arrange a meeting.
